So, I uploaded a promo I shot of Split the Skyline the other day, because I was really excited about how it turned out. Last night I was finally able to sit down and get to processing their live photos. These guys were so much fun to shoot. They label themselves as Alternative Metal/Hard Rock and list their influences ranging from Killswitch Engage to Crown the Empire. For being a relatively young group, I was instantly floored by how well they played to the camera. My favorite thing in the world is when band members take note of where I am and what I'm doing and play along with it. It leads to some amazing shots. For this show I was shooting a Nikon D7000 with a Tamron 17-55mm f2.8. My ISO was set at 1600 and I stuck with an aperture of f2.8. My shutter speed varied from 1/60 to 1/200, depending upon the lighting. The Mad Magician has a really expansive lighting system. The entire stage is wrapped in LED can lights, which is pretty much a dream to shoot. I definitely recommend it to any photographers, or concert goers. Make sure to give Split the Skyline a listen! www.facebook.com/SplittheSkyline

Last night I went out to the Mad Magician to shoot for the Home & Away CD release and also had the chance to shoot for Split the Skyline. They asked if I would be able to set up and do a promo for them before they took the stage, so of course I was happy to help them out. These guys were a blast to shoot live, and I cannot wait to share those when I'm done processing them. I was too excited about this promo, though, and wanted to share. The photo on the left is obviously the before shot, and the photo on the right is after post processing.
Make sure to head over to Split the Skyline's Facebook page and give them a listen (www.facebook.com/SplittheSkyline) and be sure to look out for their live shots that I should have up in a couple of days! |
