Caitlin and Tony were so photogenic, it was easy to capture their personalities on camera. I was lucky enough to have another photographer, Beth of EEI Photography, refer them to me. Beth didn't have their wedding date available, so she gave Caitlin my contact information. They had already had engagement photographs taken by Beth, but their wedding package included a complimentary engagement session. Caitlin let me know they wanted to do something near water, to get a different feel than their previous photographs. Luckily, I knew the perfect riverfront access. We met up before sunset, and Caitlin and Tony were instantly comfortable in front of the camera. We had so much fun shooting, and I cannot wait for their wedding, which is today! So congratulations Caitlin and Tony! Thank you so much for allowing us to be involved in your amazing ceremony! Click below to see more images of this cute couple.

Joe has been a long time friend of mine. He was originally in the band Shall We Dance, who I have blogged about shooting before and you can check that out here. When he and Stacy got engaged, they reached out to me about shooting their wedding. He let me know that Stacy loved my work, and wanted to hire us to shoot their wedding. I was super excited to do so! Joe and Stacy are awesome people, and their wedding was super fun. They had their ceremony and reception at the Quail Ridge Lodge in Wentzville, Mo. It was supposed to rain, so I had prepared for the worst with purchasing umbrellas and rain gear for my equipment. Luckily, the rain did not happen, and we were graced witha gorgeous day. Check out some shots from the day below! :) Back in April, we had the honor of shooting David and Jarrod's wedding celebration at Wine Country Gardens in Defiance, Missouri. David works with my sister, and was looking for a photographer to cover his wedding. Kelsey pointed him in our direction, and I'm so glad she did! These guys were a blast to hang out with and capture their love. They had already gotten married, so their coverage was family photos, couple shots, and their reception. They were the sweetest grooms, and you could feel their love by just being in the same room as them. Check out more shots from their celebration below! Last year, my cousin Sam reached out to me to let me know she was getting married. She wanted us to shoot her wedding, and we were ecstatic to do so. A few months back, we shared Sam and Joe's engagement session, and now we are finally sharing some shots from their big day!
Their wedding took place on New Year's Eve 2016, so it was a big party. Things were pretty laid back throughout the day, with everyone taking their time to get ready and relax. Everything was held at Old Hickory Golf Club in St. Peters, MO. It was a beautiful day, for being the end of December, which allowed us to capture some shots outside, as well. My sister and wife assisted me throughout the day. Kadie always gets detail shots for me, and runs lenses / strobes. My wife, Johna, has started to assist with shooting, photo booth coverage, and any running, as needed. I have an amazing team backing me up on shoots, these days. They're invaluable to my operations! :) This was my first session using a new strobe: the Neewer VK750 II. This is an awesome option for shooters who are wanting to buy a great strobe at a reasonable price. It has a built in PC sync, built in Slave Mode, and can be used on camera (just be sure to buy the version for your camera type). I purchased mine on eBay, but you can find them via Amazon: here for Nikon* and here for Canon*. After shooting using this strobe for the day, I found I definitely need to gel it with a CTO gel in the future. Otherwise, the strobe worked amazingly throughout the day in all modes. Definitely worth the $50 price tag. If you'd like to check out shots from the day, click below! Tonight I was reviewing old weddings we have shot over the years. So, here's another beautiful #throwbackThursday wedding post!
This one is of Mikey and Sara. I've known Mikey for years, from back in my band shooting days. He was in a band my youngest sister, Kelsey, and I were super into called Nine Life Fire. I had shot them numerous times during the lifetime of the band. When Mikey and Sara were looking to book wedding photography, he contacted me to see if I was interested. I was excited, because Mikey is an awesome guy. This was probably one of my favorite weddings to shoot. It was outside, but beautiful, and it was the first wedding that we provided a photo booth! We have made tons of photo booth upgrades since then, but it was definitely a learning experience. Check out more pics from the day below! |
